Historic AFC Grassroots Coaching License Course Held in Omadhoo

For the first time in history, Omadhoo has hosted an official AFC Grassroots Coaching License Course, organized by Heylhi Sports Club in affiliation with the Football Association of Maldives (FAM). This milestone marks a proud moment for the local football community, bringing AFC-standard grassroots coaching to the island.

First-Ever AFC Standard in Omadhoo

The course is a significant step forward in developing football in Omadhoo, ensuring aspiring coaches can now obtain official certification without leaving their community.

Diverse Participation

A total of 11 participants joined the program, including 4 women—a strong sign of inclusivity in football development—and 2 students from Omadhoo School, who were granted free participation to encourage youth involvement in the sport.

Expert Instruction

The training sessions were conducted by AFC Instructor Dunga Shareef, who guided participants through the fundamentals of grassroots coaching in line with Asian Football Confederation standards.
